Staking PlansSome Staking Plans which are relatively safe and others which are high risk. The following Staking Plan aims to win 5 points profit per bet, the target column increases in steps of 5 i.e 5, 10, 15 etc and any losses are added to the current number in the Target+Loss column, note that when a profit is made it is deducted from the target column and the sequence is ended when the target has been reached or passed. A divisor of 3 is used and never alters, the target +Loss column is divided by 3 to obtain the next stake. The guarantee is that whenever a 3/1 winner is backed the coup is successful and the target is always reached, a winner at shorter odds though means the sequence will have to carry on. Here is the first sequence.......
That sequence appears rather good doesn't it! Level stakes would brake even where as this method has made a nice 20 point profit. But take a look at the next sequence.
With this current sequence, a nice profit is being made but 25.5 points are still outstanding and with 33% of winners backed a stake of 8.5 points is needed and a winner at 3/1 to be found to bring the coup to an end. I've left this second run at that stage for you to experiment with different results, notice how quickly the stakes rise even after only a few losers are encountered. Staking plans like this are HIGH RISK and even a 500 point bank is in serious danger of being wiped out given adverse results. After a loser, one point is added to the stake and put in debit column, after a winner, one point is deducted from the winnings before the debit column is adjusted as you can see from Stake’s 3,5 and 7. Starting with an initial stake of 1 point and 500 point bank is recommended. The sequence of bets above was taken from a book entitled “Form Book Analysis” written by M.L Midgley, an excellent book on all aspects of horse racing in its time and although Racing has changed over the years the book contains sound advice and logic that still holds good today. THE FAVOURITES COVER PLAN The Staking Plan has a Debit column and the idea is to clear the ‘debt’ and make a profit. Stakes start at one point and increase by one point after a losing but the stake is never more than one point above the fiqure in the Dedit column,

Infact, when Mr Midgley offered this plan in his book, he gave 3 other
rules which seem to have fallen by the wayside when this plan has been banded
around using different names by various other books and websites who really
ought to know better!
The other rules are as follows…..
1, When stakes reach 12 points,
close the sequence as soon as a profit is shown regardless of whether the debit
column has been cleared.
2, If stakes reach 16 points, close
the sequence as soon as you have made a loss of 10 points or less.
3, If stakes reach 21 points, close
the sequence as soon as you have made a loss of 20 points or less.
The 3 safe guard rules are designed to protect your Bank
from total loss but one very important point is made, you simply cannot expect
to win all the time, sometimes you have to take your losses, the important
thing is that there is always tomorrow and your bank is still in tact.
