Here's a selection of Horse Racing Systems based on sound logic that should provide a good short list of horses to consider backing on any given race day.
The selection is the one with the best Topspeed rating, joint top equals no bet.
Using the Sporting Life website:
If prize money is the same take the earliest race time as the selection.
Note- look in the 'today's pointers' for the list of travellers.
I don't advocate backing every system qualifier, but the systems above can narrow down a busy days racing to just a few horses for further form study.
On very busy days some selection methods can provide quite a list of qualifiers, one way around this is to specialise in a certain distance, Sprint races, Middle distance races or the Staying races, maybe you like to specialise in the higher class races i.e. Class 1 containing Group and Listed events where the better class runners are to be found.
You can add or remove rules as you so wish, even the source of the information is easy to change, for instance, the 2YO system can be adjusted if you source your information from a daily paper such as the Mirror.
The selection is the Strongly Fancied (SF) or Fancied (F) horse. If only 1 horse qualifys from the above rules, it must be a SF or F selection, if 2 or 3 horses qualify under the rules, preference is given to the SF horse.
Compile you own ratings using the Daily Mirror or adapt the points method to a paper of your choice.
